Caroline | Portraits

I've been so excited to share this session! This is my little sister Caroline, she turned 13 this year. Yeah, just 13. She looks 20 in some of these pics. Caroline is so crazy and so fun and we wanted to capture that in her photos. We were up visiting my family in MD and headed down to Chesapeake City for Caroline's shoot. Chesapeake City is a cute little town located right at the top of the Chesapeake Bay. With quaint shops and colorful buildings, it was the perfect place for this shoot.

Her fingernails are awesome! Reminded me that she's still just a kid.

Happy Birthday Caroline! You are the best little sister and we love you so much. You are by far the coolest 13-year-old of all time.

Columbia Restaurant Flamenco Dancers | Portraits

This session was way too much fun. We were nervous at first because this was the first time we'd done something like this, but this group made it incredibly easy. From their poses to their attitudes, everything about this session was fun and easy. Rachael (the second in from the left in the photo below) is a friend of ours and we were able to go watch her and the rest of the dancers perform a few days before this session. They were incredible! If you get a chance to get out to the Columbia and watch this group, do it! They are amazing!

Of course it started to rain! So we sought shelter until the rain passed.

I absolutely love this photo. All the colors and the different poses and the attitude and the beauty and just all of it!

The Columbia is a really beautiful restaurant, inside and out.

Then it REALLY started to rain so we bolted inside, dried off a bit, and got back to it.

Katie and I thought it would be cool to do something a little more dramatic. These came out so much better than I imagined.

This group was just awesome. They were such good sports. As you can see in the picture below, we had to wait for cars to pass by all the while keeping an eye on the inevitable rain. Thank you all!

Sam | Portraits

Katie and I were eager to do something different. Sometimes life just gets too busy to get out and shoot just for the fun of it and that is exactly what we wanted to do. We decided, along with our friend Shipra Panosian, to round up a model and get shooting. Our beautiful friend Sam volunteered and we were so excited to photograph her. We played around with our editing a bit and even created some fun compositions. This session was different than anything we had done before. We challenged ourselves to focus on the model and poses rather than an interesting location.

My POV. | Katie's POV. She wins for sure.

A huge thanks to Shipra for pushing us to do this shoot, for challenging us as photographers, and for her friendship!
