Sunrise sessions are often produce some of our favorite images because not only do we get glorious sunlight but there are also way less people out and about, which gives us more options and freedom with our locations. Davis Islands in the early morning is an absolute gorgeous setting for a portrait session. Just look at all the light pouring in throughout Michael & Kelsey’s session.
Michael and I met in his parent’s kitchen in Vienna, Virginia. I had flown from Tampa to Virginia to visit my sorority sister (and one of my best friends), Rachel to celebrate NYE in 2012. Before the NYE party, we went to some guy named Michael's house. Michael, Jamie & Bryan were all in the kitchen. We all went to the party together & Michael and I hardly talked at the party, but I thought he was the cutest thing. I got his number and we were texting for the rest of the night, and the next day we went on a date to Panera Bread. I HATE PANERA BREAD!!!!!!!! But I love him so it was all worth it.
Michael has a heart of gold. He is so kind and caring. He truly wants to make sure everyone is comfortable and OK. He LOVES his family so much. They mean the absolute world to him. I love so many things about Michael and one thing I really love about him, is that he can talk to anyone. We’ve been together for over 7 years and never once have I had to think twice about him being OK in a room with my friends or my parents friends. He just loves to learn about people and get to know them. He doesn’t meet a stranger. I love that about him. He loves music! I’d say we have a different taste in music... I like a little more country and pop ... he’s more hip hop, r & b, rap. Michael LOVES the ocean and salt water. I’d say it’s his medicine. I feel like he gets to the ocean and he feels so free and alive. I love seeing him at the beach... it’s one of my favorite places to be with him. He adores his friends so much. Michael is a quality over quantity person. He values his friendships so much and has the same best friends as he has had since he was very young. I love love that so much. He loves to eat popcorn at night and peanut butter and jelly on ritz crackers. He LOVES chocolate milk. Ok this is getting long so I’ll stop here!!! But I love him so much!!!!
Ok so Michael is secretly really good at surprises and planning big moment things. Well for the engagement he was at least and random birthdays! We got engaged in November of 2019! My sister came to visit me for a weekend and we were going to a brewery about 45 mins away and at the brewery he proposed!! Then we drove to a winery where my parents and friends surprised me that they had all flown in town. It was the most amazing thing.
Kelsey is the most kind thoughtful wonderful person. She has never meet a stranger. She sees the best in people when they meet. She befriends and helps everyone in anyway she can.. She’s so caring towards everyone she comes in contact with. She has a heart of gold and wants to spread the love/ light she carries with her. She also absolutely loves pop culture and not so secretly wants to be a celeb herself. Hah! All of her friends come to her for advice or a good belly laugh! She loves country and pop music and never meet a puppy she didn’t want to adopt. She loves to dance even though she might have 2 left feet. She enjoys socializing and meeting new people. her laughter is contagious and she loves to tell stories that sometimes go on too long but everyone always listens and loves them because she is a great storyteller. Her close group of friends are like her sisters, an extension of her amazing family. If you meet her, you are lucky because she treats you as if that conversation you are having is all that is going on in the world. She is so special and loving and beautiful without trying too hard.
I could go on and on but I hope this gives you an idea of the amazing women I am lucky enough to share this journey of life with.
